The process of making a web series is very entrepreneurial. People have to bring their skills as well as their willingness to help out in any and every way possible. Rob is learning about marketing and I’m learning about tech. Across the board, we’re trying new things to make this as best as possible. Why? To save money. Our budget is limited. Our people and knowledge are the priceless capital that have kept this project moving. And, when you have skill but lack funds, you have to leverage the talent as much as possible to stretch the dollar. Ironically, in very pre-Web 2.0 fashion, we’ve bartered our services for location access. We really wanted the Minus 1 Lounge at the Keating Hotel. They needed someone to film a virtual tour of their hotel, top-to-bottom. The solution? We got entrepreneurial.

So, for the better part of today, we will be without Josh from NAS. He’ll be at the hotel while the rest of the crew continues to film the pilot. It’s critical. Josh is our esteemed Producer. That means he has been keeping things on track during production, making sure everyone knows their call times and has been the point person for the extent of pre-production and the last three days. But now, he’ll be occupied otherwise and, therefore, all of our skills will be put to the test today. We’re sacrificing, but it’s for the good of the show.
