The making of a web series.

Ever wanted to find out what it takes to write, cast, shoot, edit, and distribute a web series? Well so did we, so we've decided to do it. Follow along with us as we create the pilot episode for Jenn2.0, a show about a young social media consultant attempting to build her brand and define herself in the ultimate connectivity of the Web 2.0 world.

What kind of attempt at a web series would we be if we didn’t get ourselves on YouTube?  Well, I don’t think you need to be on YouTube to become popular.  But, it certainly is a big potential audience and a free one at that.

Keep in mind we’re still promoting the process for making the show and that’s what we’ve done on YouTube as well.  We anticipate the eventual promotional site for the show to be a bit more well put together, so to speak, and pick up where makingjenn20.com leaves off.  So anyway, if you’re a YouTuber make sure to friend us and certainly subscribe (that’s the important part).  Thanks!

Note: I’ve noticed that our teaser looks awesome in YouTube HD.  Please give it a try.  But along with the capability to handle the wide format videos comes a bit of a glitch in the channel graphics.  Oh well,  the videos work!

    Jenn2.0 Teaser

Well, we’ve gotten some good feedback about our teaser and the little taste of the show it includes.  Most people are anxious to see the pilot episode, while a couple of people seemed to be confused by things that may not have been apparent in the teaser reel.  It’s all good and all part of the fun of promoting a show.

So here’s the direct embed of the video if you missed it on Tubefilter.tv.  I highly recommend watching it full screen.  If it isn’t playing in HD, just click the Vimeo link and watch it in HD there.  Enjoy.

Tubefilter got our hands on an exclusive sneak peek of the highly anticipated trailer for Jenn2.0, the meta-biographical scripted web series about real-life San Diego blogger and social media consultant Jennifer Van Grove.

We know you want to see what we’ve got and we’re working hard on it.  It almost seems like now is the toughest part.  But, really it’s all fun. Here’s my thoughts…

    Who is this girl?

Hi everybody! I just thought I should give you some insight as to who Alexis Grenier REAAALLY is. I am above all else, a goofball. I love to laugh; it is quite possibly my favorite pastime. Probably my biggest problem during the ‘Jenn 2.0′ shoot was smiling too much. : )  I mean, who gets in trouble for that? Well, I’ll have you know that our director Cody is the same way, making quite a lovely work setting.

I grew up with a photographer mother, an eccentric, opera singing Grandmother, and a rock n’ roll playing father. Yeah, we are generally loud and are constantly coming up with new ideas and projects to keep life interesting. I chose the opera path like “Grandma Nano” but that hasn’t taken away from my passion for singing jazz, pop, and rock n’ roll. I LOVE to dance, figure skate (I used to be able to do an axle), sail, and travel. Above all else, I am definitely not shy. My mother has been taking my picture constantly since I was born, and for the last 9 years she has been a videographer (Classic Filmworks) so I am accustomed to being, well, exploited…in a good way : )

    Why I Write

This question was never easier to answer once I had to get in front of the camera. I’m in a scene as ‘guy walking down the sidewalk’ and had to take direction. Cody was great, but I simply didn’t want to be there. However, the scene that I wrote called for it and we needed someone that fit the role. I took one for the team. Read More
