Behind the scenes from the pilot episode

Hey everybody!  I’m Chad Hilligus and I play Dave on the show.  As an actor, the hardest part of this process is the waiting.  Waiting in anticipation to see the product of all your hard work (aka ‘the pilot’)…and waiting to see how the production team puts everything together to create a story that you, the viewers, are going to love!  That’s why this site is so great!  It gives you a chance to see what’s going on behind the scenes and what goes into bringing this show to life.  I’m stoked to be a part of it!  I really like playing Dave.  We are similar in a lot of ways…besides both of us being insanely good-looking. Jenn2.0 Goes International

So it seems that at least the marketing approach, if not the show concept, is worthy of a little news.  We just happened to find a mention on the Spanish language media blog Chica de la Tele.  It’s a good article about our show and our blog concept, and how we are may be blurring the lines a bit between the show and the “making of” website.  I’m not sure I agree with that, but if people find it entertaining then we’re doing it right.

Check out the Google Translate version here.

Recently Jennifer Van Grove and I were approached by Tubefilter News about our new series.  As you know by now we are shooting a pilot and have not yet released an episode.  But Darren Elwood, writer & co-creator, and I have always felt that we have a great concept and a unique approach.  So it’s nice when an established and reputable news source such as Tubefilter.tv considers you news-worthy.

“For those who vlog, blog, tumble, and tweet, Jenn2.0 is the show for you. For those who don’t, this web series might help you get a clue.” - Tubefilter News

Jenn2.0 is a show about how to live with the wonderful and sometimes unpredictably invasive new social technologies being made available.  It’s a constant undertone of the show that makes a surprising impact on the plot line.  Read the complete Tubefilter interview here at news.tubefilter.tv.

    “Welcome to the Twitosphere”

November 5th - San Diego City Beat writer Kinsee Morlan talks about Twitter and how it’s making it’s way into the mainstream in more ways than one.  The article draws a lot of comments from participants who attended the last SDTweetUp, a monthly social gathering of Twitter users that was recently held at the Pearl Hotel.

And those who are just using Twitter for its fun, social-networking side still seem to be the so-called “early adopters”—people like techies, journalists and PR specialists who are constantly on the lookout for new communications technology. Everyone at the Tweetup at The Pearl that night fell into those categories, but, at least to the techie crowd, it’s a good start.

The SD TweetUp was started in San Diego by our own Associate Producer and show inspiration, Jenn Van Grove.  Clearly she’s doing something right these days…  shaking all these “tweeting” birds from the trees.   Expect a mention of Jenn’s SDTweetUp in the forthcoming episode of Jenn2.0.

Pick up the November 5th edition of City Beat for the complete article or find it here on the web.

Joshua Cohen with with Tilzy.TV contacted us for our first press coverage since launching the makingjenn20.com blog.  We greatly appreciate the interest in our show and hope to live up to the expectation of bringing something different to the world of web TV.

In a fantastic blend of self-promotion and entertainment, Jennifer will provide the inspiration for an online series with a premise that’s a slightly fictionalized version of her own life. Jenn2.0 is a lighthearted, dramatic comedy about a web-savvy twentysomething living in So Cal, trying to build a virtual cult of personality and “find balance between her online personas and her ever-present reality.” Sounds like The Guild, except for people who read Mashable and Chris Brogan instead of play World of Warcraft.
